Mobile Grocery Truck

Bringing Great Food to Seniors in Need.

Our mobile grocery truck feeds over 2,700 people per month and can carry enough food for 230 individuals. It’s on the road five days a week, stopping at senior centers and senior residences in San Leandro, Hayward, and Oakland.

Two parked box trucks display "Mercy Brown Bag Program" graphics and images of seniors volunteering with groceries, highlighting the impact of Food Donation in a tree-lined parking lot.

How It Works:

We open the sides of our mobile grocery truck so our senior clients can “shop” Farmers Market style with dignity, selecting the fruits, vegetables, proteins and or whole grains that appeal to them and reducing waste by choosing the amounts that work best for their household.

Our mobile food truck was donated by our amazing partner, Crescent Porter Hale Foundation, a supporter of Mercy Brown Bag since 1983.
